KNRTU-KAI Project is Among the Winners

09.06.2021

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation summed up the results of the competition for the cooperative development between universities, scientific and business organizations.

The joint project of KNRTU-KAI and JSC Academician M. F. Reshetnev “Information Satellite Systems” scored 86.5 points and became one of the winners of the competition.

The project’s title: “Creation of a High-Tech Robotic Production of Spatial Composite Frame Constructions with Complex Structural Topology for Spacecraft.” The project is to be implemented over 2.5 years (until the end of 2023).

The project is aimed at developing new technological options for the manufacture of spatial composite structures for spacecraft, which will reduce their weight and manufacturing costs. Moreover, it is planned to exploit and establish a place for robotic laying of carbon fibers for the manufacture of structures with an optimal arrangement of frame constructions. Such technology has better possibilities for creating structures with different geometries and enhanced functional properties.

The project will be implemented at the Center for Composite Technologies at KNRTU-KAI.

Center is headed by professor Valentin I. Khaliulin, Doctor of Science in Engineering.
